  1. I love how you have incorporated both starting objectives together, as this will be clear to the audience about what your intensions are. You mentioned that you have used positive and negative emotions throughout your piece. What decision led you to do this?

I enjoyed how you have talked about your dynamics and heights throughout your choreography. What do you think will happen if you change parts of your choreography? Do you think it will give the audience a better idea into what you want to portray?

Overall, this is an excellent blog that's very informative. Well done!

    1. Thank you very much for your comment Lucy. I've decided to use both positive and negative emotions in my piece to present the idea of suffering but also the determination to the recover. I am mainly showing these contrasting emotions through the use of levels and dynamics. Perhaps I could change my choreography in the way of adding more emotion, in order to further imply my stimulus. Furthermore, I could add more movements using my head to imply that I am suffering mentally. Thank you Lucy.

  2. Well done Rachel, this is a great vlog! You spoke about how you use a lot of floor work to represent the negative emotions, why is this? And how do you this will come across to the audience?

    1. Thank you Megan. The use of floor work in my solo, is to present the idea of suffering and not being able to recover, almost like a symbol of giving up. Furthermore my floor work includes parts where my body language is very closed, I did this to enhance the symptoms of depression. I think my use of levels to express different movements will come across quite clearly to the audience, but I will express this further by changing my facial expressions.

  3. Well done Rachel, I think that this is a very clear and well thought out vlog. Do you think that the inspirational movements that you have used from your chosen choreographer have enhanced your work? I like that you have identified areas of improvement and ways to better your performance even though your choreography itself is complete.

  4. This is a great vlog Rachel! You have made clear what you aimed to achieve and how you achieved it. You mentioned how you wanted to incorporate Justin Peck's work into your own choreography, would you consider using his creative process?

    1. Thank you for your comment Caitlyn. As well as incorporating Justin Pecks movements into my work, I also used his creative process of using the music as inspiration for my movements. For example, there is a continuous repetition of the lyric 'help me' in my chosen song, which I then do a reaching hand gesture to the audience, in attempt to imply that I'm suffering and need help. This movement also allows me to engage with the audience. Additionally, I include some interesting shapes in my choreography in attempt to show Justin Pecks creative process of using interesting formations for his dancers.
